Early Style Penny Rugs
Nova Scotia  Canada
September 17 2008

Good News!  I have finally listed the
new penny rugs and have figured the
workings of a few more 'buttons'.
My son will be very proud of his Mom.
I still have more 'tweeking' to do on pages
for Ned and Jake, Pen Wiper and Menagerie
but those will be another day.
The photos on the above pages are not
showing the true beauty of the rugs due to
problems on my old computer.

I am in the process of updating the
Primitives and Antique Page today.

Please visit their blogs for more

(please keep in mind I'm still new at blogging)

They will open in a new window so enjoy
and come back soon.

September 11  2008

I am sure I could make a decent reproduction
of any antique penny rug but
I am lost in the high tech world of computers.

I am very fortunate to have a wonderful son
and soon to be daughter in law who
are 'cee's tech support' for my computer.
I don't do buttons.
I have flashing lights on anything that
requires setting times.
I have an old fashioned, wind up clock.
It runs slow but so do I and I am not
in  a hurry to  go anywhere these days.

My Gran would say 'that child is as slow
as cold molasses running uphill'.

I have been very slow to update my website
with new rugs and information due to
my software program from Yahoo not being
compatible with my new computer and Vista.

I struggled for two weeks with those buttons
and today I had a feeling I should try again.
I have learned to listen to these little
'nudges' in life as they are seldom wrong.

The new Yahoo software works perfectly
and I am now in the process of getting
the new rugs listed as well as updating the Primitives
and Antiques pages.
I will 'tweak' the website as time permits;
it seems dark due to the image program
on my old computer.

New rugs for next month are started and
the rug I am now stitching is a very large
penny runner in primitive shades of browns.
I have had many compliments on
the large tongue rug I made years ago and
I think it is time to make another of
these large floor mats. I will update my
blogs on their progress.
I also will make more candle mats this
month and my challenge rug is to be
my adaptation of an 1800's Canadian
hooked rug with beavers and Lion.
Should be interesting to penny rug the Lion
but much easier than working buttons.

Have a wonderful fall everyone, stop by next
month for more rugs and be sure to check
my blogs on their progress... and of course,
my continuing struggles with those 'buttons'.
